Hi all, just wanted to put a note in here for everyone regarding recent maintenance items.

Septic Related

  • Mom and Randy put the ROBEIC in the toilets in June. This means we do it again in December
  • Root Control will need to be poured down there now as we have not done that since we got the house. Geoff and will do that while we are here
  • We need to make signs for the bathrooms regarding the proper “flushables”; poop, puke or pee…..and toilet paper only (maybe not like that….but you know what I mean). We also need one for the sink that explains no grease allowed. Any one want to do that? It can be fun and creative. But with all our butts up there, plus guests, it can often be overlooked or forgotten.
  • As a group, do we think we should go ahead and get the system pumped so we can start fresh? Joe said it is around $250 and Mom says maybe we can use the maintenance funds for that? Thoughts….do we think it is necessary?

Non Septic Related 🙂

  • The air filter is changed, there are extra in the utility closet and the date of the filter change is on a small post it on the vent (very small and barely noticeable)
  • The attic fan officially has to be replaced. Geoff is crawling up there on Wednesday to see what type it is and research between his work and maybe Joe’s to see f we can get a discounted fan
  • We spoke to the neighbors……they said all the grass and plants in the cove have not been there before. They said not only will it continue to expand, but the more we allow it the lower the water will be around our dock. It also allows more algae and hydrilla. They all use regular Roundup stuff to kill it and then prevent it from growing. We already started the treatment today and will keep working on it
    • They also said that the area under/behind the bridge is ok to burn….the damp bottom is a benefit so the fire is controlled. WHO KNEW!!! I told them we were afraid to do it!!
    • Geoff is bringing up our weed eater Wednesday so we can continue to clean that crud up
  • Todd put a lot of notes on the website from the Doyle’s, one item was the name, number and amount for his lawn guy. It was $55 per service should we ever entertain that service.
  • The bedroom door has been fixed! You can now close the door to the bedroom and it stays closed 🙂 No more dogs nudging it open! Okay…..maybe I’m the only one excited about this!

More to come……feel free to post when you are up here or have info :0) it is a great way to keep track in one place!
